Invitation to JIIA Public Symposium
February 18th, 2012
JIIA Study Report:
"Policy Research for Japan's International Competitiveness"
|
========================================================================
|
The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting JIIA International Public Symposium
(see details below) featuring presentations by Japan's leading experts on Japan's International Competitiveness.
JIIA last July organized a "Study Group on Policies Needed to Ensure Japan's International Competitiveness" as one of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' FY2011 international affairs research/recommendation projects.
Under the direction of its chairman Professor Takatoshi Ito of the Graduate School of Economics at the University of Tokyo, this eight-person Study Group has over a period of six months examined the types of policies Japan should adopt to maintain and expand its influence within the international community over the medium to long term,
This Symposium will feature presentations by the project members on their research findings thus far, and we intend also to arrange a question-and-answer session for the Symposium participants.
For registration, please let us know by returning this e-mail no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 15.
In view of the limited number of seats available (180), participants may have to be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, so we ask that you please reply early.
